Upmix Stereo To 5.1 Free Vst Plugins

A similar application as the Brainworx bx_stereomaker, but a very different approach with a totally different sound!

Developed under license from DTS ®, this plugin lets broadcast, post-production and mix engineers convert stereo audio to quad, 5.1 and 7.1 surround, as well as 5.1 to 7.1 surround, in cases where original source elements for standard upmixing are not available in the desired multichannel format. Neural UpMix is a plug-in for the post-production and mixing communities. Combining precision and creative flexibility it can output 5.1 or 7.1 multi-channel stems from stereo or 5.1 source material and is intended for projects where the original source elements for a conventional upmix are not available. V.I is a 2-input, 6-output VST plugin that converts a two-channel stereo input to a six channel output in 5.1 format. Also included: fLfR, CLFE, and sLsR are 2-in/2-out VST plugins duplicating V.I’s effects in channel pairs in VST hosts that do not support 2-in/6-out multichannel plugins. Here the audio was originally mixed in 5.1, then folded down in Dolby Pro Logic 2 to an LtRt. This LtRt mix was then fed through our upmixers, all set to their 'film' preset. It's here where we start to see differences in the accuracy of the three plug-ins. At the beginning of the piece in the original 5.1, the sobbing is panned hard front left.

What is the SCHOEPS Mono Upmix plugin good at?

The SCHOEPS Mono Upmix can generate Stereo and even LCR channels from any mono signal and works great on voices in Post Production, synth in music production, as well as bass, guitars, drum room mics, vocals, etc.

It adaptively extracts the diffuse sound in the mono input signal to create an upmix signal. As the diffuse sound should always be reproduced decorrelated on different stereo channels, the up-mixed signal sounds more natural than the original mono track.

The Mono Upmix is often superior to a reverb as it doesn’t add reverb but uses the present diffuse sound.

Furthermore, it’s possible to control the perceived source distance and panning position by generating early reflections.

The Mono Upmix plugin performs great with mono location sound dialogue as well as spot microphones in a music recording.

New interface, new effects, new functions. IK Multimedia has officially unveiled a new version of the IK Multimedia AmpliTube 5 guitar emulator. The novelty has received an updated interface with support for Retina displays, a large number of new hardware and the ability to work with impulses

The new IK Multimedia AmpliTube 5 comes out five years after the previous version of the plugin was released. According to the manufacturer, the fifth version offers a completely redrawn interface with support for scaling and Retina displays, an improved user experience and an impressive selection of guitar equipment and effects.

Plugins

The emulator offers 129 new virtual devices. The total amount of equipment available in AmpliTube 5 MAX exceeds 400 models. In addition to this, the plugin has acquired a section for working with impulses. At the heart of the impulse engine is IK Multimedia Volumetric Impulse Response (VIR) technology, which improves signal processing so that impulses sound more natural and authentic.

To develop VIR impulses, the plug-in analyzed and recorded over 600 impulses per speaker available in AmpliTube. Thanks to this, the guitar emulator offers about 143,000 pulses and the ability to change the position of the microphone in three dimensions in virtual space. In addition to the sink impulse, the engine allows you to import custom IR files.

Another notable innovation is the fully customizable signal path. Users will be able to create circuits of any complexity, experiment with effects through serial and parallel processing. New features allow to implement an unusual chain of processed-original-processed signal, the developers note.

The effect chain supports up to 57 effects. Users can freely combine cabinets, amps, stompboxes, and rack effects. A number of effects migrated to the guitar emulator from the T-RackS studio processor kit.
The plugin also has a DAW with support for recording up to 8 channels simultaneously.

Together with the DAW, the developers have completely redesigned the built-in mixer, making it much more convenient. According to the creators, now the guitar can be processed exclusively in AmpliTube – there is no need to switch to the main DAW window.
The AmpliTube Custom Shop section has also been redesigned.
